Flavour description: The Shade e-Liquid uses naturally derived North American Shade Tobacco flavourings. The liquid is then steeped in matured oak barrels for a month, which creates a crisp, medium strength tobacco vape which is pleasantly smooth on inhaling and exhaling.

Shade tobacco or Connecticut Shade is grown only in the Connecticut River Valley, also known as Tobacco Valley. Shade tobacco is cultivated under cover of cheesecloth tents, which protect the plants from direct sunlight and insects while also increasing the temperature and creating a hot and humid environment for the tobacco to grow in. The results of this growing technique are longer, thinner and suppler leaves with tiny veins. When the leaves are aged and cured, they turn golden brown and oily with a more delicate structure.

Shade tobacco leaves are used as wrapping for some of the world’s finest cigars. As cigar smoking declined and cigarettes increased in popularity, the production of Shade decreased dramatically. However, recently, the renaissance of cigar smoking and the use of this exquisite tobacco as a flavouring for quality e-Liquids has led to an increase in production. Red Vape E-liquid production:

Red Vape gets its distinctive flavour from the barrel fermentation process that Louisiana settlers learnt in the 18th and 19th century from the local Choctaw and Chickasaws Native American tribes. These tribes had been producing Perique for over a thousand years, and it was Pierre Chenet who learnt the process and developed it along with more western production techniques.

The tobacco plants are harvested when the leaves are a dark, vibrant green colour and the plant itself 24–30 inches in height. After harvesting, they are hung in curing barns until the leaves are dry but still supple. The leaves are then rolled into “torquettes” and placed in whisky oak barrels under giant jackscrews which keep the tobacco under constant pressure. Every few months, workers take all the leaves out, put the bottom ones on top and press them back under the screws. The entire curing process takes more than a year. The result is a powerful experience, with fans describing Perique as spicy, earthy and rich.
